Iyaz Waheed (Chairman)

Iyaz is currently the General Manager, Statutory Compliance at Universal Enterprises. Iyaz has been serving in the board of MPAO since 2009. Iyaz has over ten years’ experience in finance, accounting and management mainly in the tourism industry. He has worked in new resort development projects, pre-opening of resorts, investment, and financial analysis. He also has experience in organizational planning and restructuring, human resources, budgeting, control, compliance and reporting. Iyaz previously worked at KPMG - Sri Lanka in auditing and financial consulting. Iyaz is a Chartered Management Accountant with an Associate Membership in the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK.
Fareeha Shareef

Fareeha is the C.E.O. of FJS Consulting Pvt. Ltd., a leading management consultancy firm based in the Maldives. As a Senior Consultant at FJS, her experience spans over strategic management, financial and business planning, auditing, training and socioeconomic research. Fareeha received a Master of Management Studies from the University of Waikato, New Zealand and a Bachelor of Commence (Hon) in Accounting and Finance from Lincoln University, New Zealand. She is an active member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of UK.
Mujuthaba Jaleel

Mujuthaba Jaleel is the Head of Internal Audit Department at Maldives Ports Limited and a Board Director of MTCC. He has worked with public and private sector organizations ranging from Maldives Monetary Authority to freelance consultancies at the World Bank. He headed numerous project financials such as Mobile Phone Banking Project, Pension and Social Protection Administration Project, and Integrated Human Development Project. Mujuthaba holds a Masters degree in Financial Business Management from Kingston University London and an honours degree in Accounting & Finance from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is also a Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of UK.
Mohamed Fizan

Fizan is currently a partner of Shah, Hussain & Co., Barristers and Attorneys, a leading commercial and financial services law firm in the Maldives. He has maintained a highly successful private practice for the past 10 years, and specializes in banking and finance, investment structuring and portfolio planning, business acquisitions, tourism industry including resort development and management, taxation, and general corporate and commercial matters. Further, as a director, he has served on the boards of some major international hotel investment and development companies during the past 7 years. Fizan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) degree from Bond University, Australia. He is an advocate of the Supreme Court and the High Court, and is a member of the Maldivian Bar.
Ibrahim Ahmed Nasir

Ibrahim is presently working for UNICEF. He has worked as MD/CEO of the Maldives Stock Exchange & Securities Depository for 3 years and played a very important role in setting up the first Stock Exchange in the Maldives. He was also the leading consultant in the biggest IPO in Maldives in year 2011 at which the biggest telecom company of Maldives - Dhiraagu, sold its shares to the general public. Ibrahim also served 3 years as Chairman for GulhiFalhu Investments - a billion dollar land reclamation and residential project in Maldives. He has also provided voluntary services as a Financial Controller at Transparency Maldives. Ibrahim worked for the Government of Maldives for over 11 years in the area of law enforcement. He also worked for UNDP for 2 years handling trade related projects. Ibrahim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Uppsala University in Sweden.
Public Sector Representatives
Mariyam Visam

Visam is Director General of the Pension Supervision Department at the Capital Market Development Authority. She is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme and the operations of the Maldives Pension Administration Office. She is also responsible for implementing licensing and regulatory structure for investment related organisations. She was previously Head of CMDA’s Securities Market Operations Section. She has experience in implementing new policies and strategies for developing the capital market in the Maldives. Visam has a Master of Business Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia and a BA (Hons) in Marketing Management from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle in the UK.
Mohamed Inaz

Mohamed Inaz is the Public Accounts Executive at the Ministry of Finance and Treasury. Inaz is a key member of the team leading the implementation of the Government’s new Public Accounting System using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, SAP. Inaz has over 7 years experience in the public sector and his Key contributions include support in compiling the Annual Financial Statement of the Government of Maldives for the past three years. Inaz holds a bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Hertfordshire, UK
Fathimath Sahudha

Sahudha is an Assistant Director at the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA). She manages the implementation of the social protection policy mandate of NSPA. She has over 7 years of experience in the public sector and has over 5 years of experience in social protection policy development including pensions, health insurance, disability and social assistance programs. She holds a Master in Public Policy from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Sociology and Social Policy from Victoria University of Wellington.
