Pension appoints Sujatha Haleem as the new CEO

The Board of Pension Office appoints Ms. Sujatha Haleem as the Chief Executive Officer of Pension Office, effective from 31st October 2022. 

Prior to assuming the current role, she worked as Acting CEO and held other key positions of the Pension Office. She has over 16 years of extensive experience that encompasses senior management roles that cover in the spectrum of social protection reforms, pension policy and administration, strategic and financial planning, project management, organizational restructuring and governance. 

Before joining the pension office, she played a pivotal role in the pension reform process by leading the“Pension and Social Protection Administration Project” of the world bank, which resulted in the establishment of the Maldives Pension Act and introduction of the current Maldives Pension System.  

Sujatha is a strong advocate of a sustainable pension system and has actively contributed through her participation in policy dialogues and represented the Pension Fund and Social Protection Sector in both national and international platforms. 

Apart from this, she previously served in the public sector at the Ministry of Finance and Disaster Management Center
